SIP Trunks allow businesses to retain the advantages of their existing telecoms equipment, whilst gaining the additional functionality and benefits of IP Telephony. Companies can retain their existing handsets and have the flexibility to add remote or central IP users when needed - all routed with Tier 1 carriers.
Business SIP Trunks can be linked to a customer’s current PBX using an IP enabled PBX or by using a Media Gateway. Outgoing calls are then routed through the PBX and out via the SIP Trunk instead of using costly traditional phone lines. At this point, the IP call can be routed using the Customers current data provider. Alternatively, Kingcoms can assist with the migration or supply of data connectivity including ASDL, SDSL and leased lines and can provide a wide range of UK and International numbering services including number porting from BT to IP.
This solution offers a future-proofed and innovative service to customers who do not wish to replace their existing telecoms equipment. Customer’s also benefit from the ability to take advantage of IP Telephony features when right for them, whilst also continuing to maximise existing infrastucture and reduce call costs.

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) gels different end points (phone, computers, mobiles etc) together and dictates how these devices work together and the achievable level of interaction.
